First-Year Experience Bag Design Contest

OFFICIAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

Attention all students!  Remember the bag that you received during Summer Orientation?  We would like YOU to design the bags for next years' incoming class.  The bags this year will be nylon drawstring backpacks.

Here's how the contest works:
1. Submit your design(s) to us no later than Friday, March 20th, 2009.  All currently enrolled students are eligible to submit a design.

2. Students may submit multiple entries.

3. From all of the designs submitted, the FYRI committee will select the top five designs.

4. From those five designs, all students will be asked to vote on-line for their design choice from March 26th through March 31st.

5. The design receiving the most votes will be chosen to appear on the bags which are handed out at orientation with the FYRI featured book.  The winner will also receive a $100 gift certificate to the Ithaca College Bookstore.

Submission requirements:
1. Entries must be submitted as camera-ready files, preferably in high resolution JPG or TIFF format.  The files should work equally well for web publications and print media.  Designs should be in a black and white format.

2. A CD containing your entry is preferred, but electronic submissions are also accepted.  With your submission please provide complete contact information including name, campus address, phone, and email.

3. Submissions must incorporate the following elements somewhere in the design:
- Reference to this years theme of "Intellect"
- The FYE symbol (which can be obtained directly from this page)
- A visual element of some sort that symbolizes Ithaca College
- Reference to the class of 2013

4. Other optional elements that can be incorporated into the design include:
- A 'quote' of some kind
- A reference to the FYRI book, "Dreams from my Father" by Barack Obama
