Programs and Events
Each year we have core programming that serves religious, educational and social means. See below for some examples of our classic Hillel programs.
Welcome Back BBQ Each year, we start out with our Welcome Back BBQ. This is a great time to affiliate with Hillel and support the Jewish Community at Ithaca College, eat great, free, Kosher food and meet other Jewish students around campus! Enjoy the band and sign up for upcoming programs!
Sushi Night Hillel loves hosting Sushi Night! Come learn how to make a sushi role if you never have before and enjoy delicious vegetarian sushi!
maniCURE is held in October during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Get a manicure for $8 or a pink hair extension for $10! Clinique Makeovers are also available all day! All the proceeds are donated to Sharsheret - a Jewish Breast Cancer Awareness Organization!
Shoshana Rudnick Inch a Thon is held every November, the week before Thanksgiving Break! Come get a haircut right in the North Foyer of Campus Center! If you donate 8" or more of hair to Pantene Locks for Love, the haircut is FREE! All other haircuts only cost $10 and ALL the proceeds are donated to a charity that is chosen beforehand. Professionals barbers and stylists are there all day from 9am to 6pm, donating their time to help this wonderful cause!
Hanukkah Party is held each December around the time that Hanukkah begins. We enjoy freshly made latkas as well as games of driedel and the receiving of Hanukkah bags! A candle lighting is a must!
Bagel Brunches! Bagel Brunches are held once a month on a Sunday afternoon. Come hang out and eat some delicious bagels, cream cheese and who could forget the lox! Also, enjoy some coffee, donuts, juice and fruit!
Matzah Ballin' Bar Mitzvah is held in the Spring. Students are offered a chance to become a Bar or Bat Mitzvah if they have never had one before and the Jewish Chaplain preps them for this experience. Afterwards, a party is held in their honor! Everything you ever remember about Bar/Bat Mitzvah's when you were 13, right on Ithaca College's campus! It is an event you can't miss!
Yom Ha'azmaut Israel's Independence Day is held each April at IC. Great music, food, crafts, community tables and fun! A great time to just get together and celebrate!
Themed Shabbats: Each week there is a different theme for Shabbat! This ranges from Classy Night, to Sweet as Honey Shabbat, to Bring a Friend!
*There are multiple other programs that occur throughout the semester. To get emails about upcoming programming, email hillel@ithaca.edu to be added to the listserve.
