Four Workshops for Academic Success at Ithaca College

  • Let's Take Note of This:  Do your students have trouble taking "good" class notes or staying on top of and understanding all of their readings?  This workshop is designed to help students identify tools for effective note taking during lectures and strategies for staying on top and understanding required readings.
  •  It's About Time:  Are students paying more attending to new episodes of Grey's Anatomy or their lecture notes?  This workshop will help students evaluate their current use of time and learn how to use schedules, calendars and list to maximize their study time.
  •  This is Only a Test:  Students often feel overwhelmed when preparing for or taking an exam.  This workshop will help students learn how to successfully prepare for tests, encourage strategies for taking specific types of tests, and how to manage test anxiety.
  •  Facts of Life:  Adjusting to college courses can be a challenge for even the best of students.  It's a change of pace from life before college and this workshop provides an opportunity to help students identify where they should make adjustments to achieve more success.  It introduces students to college style time management and note taking skills, as well as textbook reading and test preparation strategies.

The following information is needed to set up a workshop.

  1. The group you are targeting.
  2. At least 3 possible dates and times for the program you want to implement.
  3. A location.

To set up any of these beneficial workshops, please contact us at the Office for New Student Programs at 274-1908 or email us at orientation@ithaca.edu.
