ECHO Leader

ECHO Leader

The Office for New Student Programs recruits approximately 12 peer leaders to lead the ECHO (Experiencing Connections by Heading Outdoors) groups on the camping trip.

Every August before Move-In Day, students accepted into the ECHO program attend an overnight camping trip. This trip is facilitated by a group of trained student leaders. These leaders serve as positive role models as they assist first year students in establishing connections at IC before classes begin.  ECHO Leaders go through training sessions to develop outdoor leadership, minimum impact camping techniques and basic First Aid, as well as some navigational training several days prior to the ECHO trip.

Applications will be made available in the Spring Semester. Anyone interested in applying to be an ECHO Leader should contact Erica Shockley.
