Jumpstart Leaders

The Jumpstart Program provides an opportunity for new students to transition into college and get acquainted with peers before the semester begins. New students may apply to take part in one of four specially designed programs  that will help them prepare for the Ithaca College experience.  Each program has a different focus, and selected participants will take part in activities and exercises centered on themes.

Current students serve as leaders and will be volunteering with Jumpstart students, camping and hiking with them, or leading and participating in other activities.  They are also a valuable source of information and advice as students begin their college experience!

Jumpstart Programs:

  • Community Plunge
  • E.C.H.O. (Experiencing Connections by Heading Outdoors)
  • Lead-In
  • Sustainable Community Challenge

  • Application deadline was March 27, 2009.  The application is currently closed, but we hope you will consider applying next year.
  • All current applicants were notified of their status on Monday, April 13, 2009.
  • RAs are ineligible to be Jumpstart Leaders, as RA training and opening responsibilities make Jumpstart participation impossible.
  • Jumpstart Leader training will take place August 18-19.
  • Jumpstart 2009 will be August 20-22.

Jumpstart Programs are a collaborative endeavor of the Office of Student Engagement and the Resource and Environmental Management Program. Please email csli@ithaca.edu or call (607) 274-3222.
