Welcome Ambassador

The Office for New Student Programs hires about 30-40 Ambassadors to work the Welcome to Ithaca program, which takes place during the first week of classes in the fall. Training for these positions is minimal. Application information for these positions will be available here in February 2007.

Welcome Ambassadors work together to guide all new students during the program.  Major job responsibilities include: setting up facilities, checking-in students, participating in an informational meeting, leading a walking tour, escorting students to placement testing and academic advising, and answering questions about campus. Ambassadors are expected to provide overall support to make the program a success in accordance with the New Student Programs goals and mission.
