The Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen film series at Ithaca College concludes its spring program with a showing of Beautiful Daughters, a documentary chronicling the creation of the first all-transgender production of Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues. Filmmaker Josh Aronson will present his work on Tuesday, April 15, at 7:00 p.m. in Textor 102. [The event was postponed from an earlier date in February.]
Campus emergency preparedness and strategies will be the focus of a Campus-Community Coalition (CCC) meeting on Wednesday, April 9, 6:30-8:00 p.m., Africana Studies and Research Center, 310 Triphammer Road, Ithaca.
This public forum -- "Post-Virginia Tech: Update on Local Campus Preparedness" -- will review emergency response measures that were launched before, or initiated in response to, last April's tragedy at Virginia Tech.
Pulitzer Prize–winning columnist Nicholas Kristof will be among the speakers at a local symposium on the connections between the Beijing Olympics and the ongoing genocide in the Darfur region of Sudan. Sponsored by student organizations at Ithaca College and Cornell University, “Dream for Darfur: A Two-Day Academic Symposium on the World’s Darkest Olympics” will take place on Saturday, April 5, and Monday, April 7. All of the events are free and open to the public.
