For the fourth straight year, the Corporation for National and Community Service has recognized Ithaca College with a place on the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. Launched in 2006, the honor roll is the highest federal recognition a school can achieve for its commitment to service learning and civic engagement.
Are you planning a campus event, activity, lecture, happening, or celebration with a lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) theme in April? Is your student group, organization, or department discussing programming or events in conjunction with the campus observance of LGBT Awareness Month in April? And are you wondering about ways to get out the word on campus about your event to maximize interest and attendance?
There is still time to nominate graduating seniors for this honor. Nominations are due to the Office of Career Services no later than 5:00pm on Friday, February 26, 2010.
The Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen film series will host a double feature on Wednesday February 17, in Textor 103. Two films will be screened: Krudas at 7 pm, and Novela, Novela at 7:30 pm.
The Season of Lent begins February 17, 2010. Catholic Mass, with the distribution of ashes, will be celebrated on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 9 am, 12:10 and 5:30 pm in Muller Chapel. Lent is the time to review our past, recognize our faults and failures, admit our guilt, and reform our lives—a time of prayer, self-denial, penitence and almsgiving. Let us begin this holy season together on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 17.
