The MLK Week planning committee is proud to announce that Ithaca Mayor Svante Myrick will be the keynote speaker for MLK Week 2012.  Recently, Myrick was sworn in as mayor of Ithaca.  Myrick is Ithaca's first African-American mayor, as well as its youngest mayor at 24 years of age.

Mayor Myrick will speak on the MLK Week theme, A New Definition of Greatness.  This event, which will take place on Wednesday, January 25 at 7:00pm, is open to the IC community as well as the Ithaca Community.  On Thursday, January 26, during the noon hour, Mayor Myrick will host a town-hall-style event titled 'A Conversation with the Mayor' in Textor 102.
