Suspicious Fire in Tallcott Hall
An initial investigation conducted by the Ithaca Fire Department and the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management has concluded that a fire, which occurred in the second floor TV lounge of Tallcott Hall on September 22, 2012 around 3:15 am, appears to have been intentionally ignited. The fire caused damage to lounge furniture.
Anyone with information pertaining to this incident is asked to immediately contact the Office of Public Safety and Emergency Management at (607) 274-3333.
In accordance with the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act [20 USC 1092 (f)], otherwise known as the “Clery Act,” the College is required to provide the campus community timely warning of certain crimes and other conditions that pose a serious or ongoing threat to life and safety. The College meets this notification requirement through the issuance of a “Public Safety Alert” intended to aid in the prevention of similar crimes and provide cautionary measures for the campus community. Clery crimes are as follows: aggravated assault, arson, burglary, murder and non-negligent homicide, robbery, sexual offenses (forcible and non-forcible), motor vehicle theft, and hate crimes (in accordance with Clery reporting categories for prejudice).
