Violin Preludio Program
The Preludio Program is designed for very advanced students who are motivated to work in a demanding musical environment. The program attracts serious students who have studied major violin concertos and offers an exciting college campus study atmosphere. There is a limit of 12 students and the age limit for this program is 13 to 17 years of age. Students are housed in a teen residence hall.
Violin Preludio Program meets for three weeks, June 30 - July 19. Activities of the program include the following:
- two or three one-hour lessons per week
- performance class
- violin ensemble
- technique class
- coaching with a faculty piano accompanist
- public recital performances
The minimum requirement for admission is any major concerto such as one by Bruch, Mendelssohn, Lalo, or Mozart. The faculty for the Violin Preludio Program includes Tom Wermuth (violin), Allegra Wermuth (violin), and Melissa Zindel (piano).
