Seal of Ithaca College

From: Ithaca College --- responses to the attack on the U.S. on September 11, 2001

Though the horrific events of Tuesday, September 11, occurred far away from campus, they nonetheless touched every member of the Ithaca College community in some fashion. In the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, I am proud of the way our students, faculty, and staff have come together to provide assistance and support to one another in a time of great need.

We have created this website to serve as an ongoing resource for the Ithaca College community. It includes lists, compiled by the Office of Alumni Relations, of alumni who are missing or who are confirmed deceased as a result of the attacks, as well as those reported to have survived; the texts of remarks by faculty members delivered at educational forums held following the attacks; and links to other internal and external information sources.

In a time of such profound sadness and continuing challenge, I remain confident that this community --- dedicated to education --- can learn from this tragedy and act on the College's mission statement, which calls upon us all to share the responsibilities of citizenship and service here and in the global community.

One year after the attacks, remembrance events at Ithaca College began with a performance of Mozart's Requiem on the morning of Wednesday, September 11, 2002, and continued with many special events until the evening of the following day.
