ARTICLE IX
Impeachment Procedures
- Any member of the Student Government may initiate impeachment proceedings against any senator, Executive Board member, or officer of the Student Government.
- Ex-officio board members may not be impeached.
- To initiate impeachment proceedings, a written motion and petition requesting an investigation, and a list of offenses committed by the member in question must be presented at a formal meeting of Student Government Association by the member initiating the proceedings. The petition must include the signatures of 2/3 of ALL members of Senate (in good standing.)
- Following the motion, and presentation of petition, the Investigation Committee shall be convened by the Chairperson.
- The Investigation Committee shall report their findings and make a recommendation to the Senate.
- After the recommendations of the Investigation Committee, the Student Government member(s) under investigation shall have the opportunity to rebut.
- Following the statements of the individuals(s) under investigation, the Senate shall vote on the original motion.
- A ¾ vote of all members of Senators in good standing in favor of the motion shall constitute a removal, impeachment.
