Two Welcome Salons are planned for November. Sustainable Tompkins invites community members to learn more about ways to help create a healthier community now and in the future.

Welcome salons are open to anyone who is interested in talking with others about issues such as learning to consume less, and use less energy, while having more of what really matters in life; increasing our use of local foods; equitable sharing of resources; alternatives to sprawl; and systems-level change that can improve all our lives. Members of Sustainable Tompkins will help newcomers connect with others who are working on projects to help bring about a more sustainable community.

The first welcome salon will be held on Wednesday, November 2 from 7-9p.m. at the Old Jail House Large Conference Room, 124 East Court Street, Ithaca.

Concerned about increasing energy costs this winter?  Please also join us for the second welcome salon in this series, which will be held Tuesday, November 15 from 7-9p.m. at Juna's Café, on the commons, upstairs.  This salon will focus on issues of energy consumption for the upcoming winter months.
