Teacher Award Program

The Council sponsors the New York State Award For Excellence in Teaching Economics for elementary, middle and high school teachers. Prizes are funded by The New York Times. All teachers and administrators are eligible to apply. Winners are recognized in an annual award ceremony and receive cash prizes.

Student Award Program

The Student Awards Program is a state-wide competition to recognize students' knowledge of economics.  Winners receive prizes and recognition at an annual awards ceremony.  Contact NYSCEE for further details.

Glabal Economics Education Project

In collaboration with the Phillips Academy, Council staff and educators from the national network are involved in curriculum development, teacher trainer, and teacher exchange programs in South Asia.  We have initiated a pilot project of teacher training in Thailand with the intention of developing teacher exchange programs for New York teachers.

National Council on Economic Education Curriculum Materials
