“It is our goal to become one of the nation’s leading proponents of sustainability, to practice what we preach, and to produce leaders in many field who will find solutions for meeting the needs of their generation without shortchanging future generations. Enlightened corporations realize that if they hope to remain competitive they must use natural resources wisely, be responsive to the concerns of the public, and serve as good stewards of the environment.”
~ President Peggy R. Williams, March 2004

Campus Operations
The Ithaca College campus has garnered national attention for successfully integrating comprehensive resource management programs such as office paper recycling and state-of-the-art composting of dining hall food waste. Building upon those experiences, the College is assessing its operations, procedures and policies in order to foster the incorporation of sustainability thinking and practice into its day-to-day management.
Throughout the many ways it functions and supports the work and learning of our faculty, staff, students, and visitors, our goal is to create a “living learning laboratory” that models and supports sustainability theory and practice for our community every day.
