"One of our major responsibilities as citizens in a democratic society is to be stewards of our natural resources, making decisions that take into account the need to balance economic growth, social justice, and environmental protection. One of our primary tasks as educators is to arm students to both dream and take action."
~ Provost Peter W. Bardaglio

Curriculum and Research
Ithaca College is an independent, predominantly undergraduate comprehensive college of 6,400 students in the Finger Lakes region of New York, offering a diverse curriculum in over 100 degree programs in humanities and sciences, business, music, health sciences and human performance, and communications. As a founding member of Associated New American Colleges (ANAC), a national consortium of about twenty small and mid-sized institutions, Ithaca is committed to Ernest Boyer’s vision of undergraduate education, one that combines liberal and professional studies with a strong emphasis on experiential learning and civic engagement.
Our College Mission states:
To provide a foundation for a lifetime of learning, Ithaca College is dedicated to fostering intellectual growth, aesthetic appreciation, and character development in our students. The Ithaca College community thrives on the principles that knowledge is acquired through discipline, competence is established when knowledge is tempered by experience, and character is developed when competence is exercised for the benefit of others.
