Ithaca College is primarily an undergraduate teaching institution, not a research institution. Our faculty are first and foremost educator who conduct their research work "on the side". However, our faculty do actively conduct research as they seek to stay current in their fields of study as well as make significant contributions to the advancement of their academic disciplines. Many of our faculty integrate undergraduate students into their ongoing research work to the degree that a number of students graduate with academic research study publishing credentials on their resume.
We have come to understand that our students appreciate experiential learning opportunities, and they learn best by putting theory into practice and hone their newly acquired skills through application in the laboratory, and in the field.
