Professor Pfaff Gives Presentation at Regional Math Conference
Tom Pfaff, a professor in the Mathematics department, recently gave the Randolph Lecture at the Fall, 2011 meeting of the Seaway section of the Mathematical Association of America.
The talk, "Sustain This! Making Math Matter," described examples of how sustainability issues can be covered in mathematics classes as part of the typical curriculum from Calculus through research project for seniors and, by doing so, increase students' engagement and understanding of the material.
