Dillingham is the place for musical theater, which I love! In addition to music and theater majors, non-majors who have a knack for performing can grace the stage as well, or even work behind the scenes as part of the stage crew. It's a great place to get involved!

With the majestic fountains beside it and a spectacular view of Cayuga Lake, the Dillingham Center for the Performing Arts is one of Ithaca's most distinctive structures. The building was named for our fourth president, Howard Dillingham, who presided over the College as it relocated to the current campus. Primarily known as the theater arts building, Dillingham Center also houses the Department of Philosophy and Religion. The coursework in this department, in particular the study of ethics and logic, can provide the foundation for almost any field of interest, from social work to business to law. Accordingly, students from across the College take classes here.
Our spaces are extremely flexible: Clark Theatre can seat 280 in the round, while Hoerner Theatre presents a 520-seat proscenium-style venue with a Broadway-sized stage. This variety has allowed for recent performances such as Dancing at Lughnasa, The Laramie Project, Seagull, Urinetown: The Musical, Violet, and our very first production of a student-written musical, The Count of Monte Cristo. Downstairs dance studios accommodate ballet, jazz, tap, and modern dance classes.
