Focus on NYC Field Studies Week and Senior Showcase

B.F.A. acting and musical theater seniors perform in Los Angeles and New York before dozens of industry professionals.

Performing for their classmates and the Ithaca community provides great experience for our theater students, but for most seniors the career-building highlights of their tenure at IC are the annual field studies week and senior showcase. Field studies week in New York City is packed with master classes, panel discussions, tours, shows, and networking that provides seniors with vital career tools. We frequently have over 100 alumni take the time to share their knowledge and expertise with the next generation of Ithaca thespians.

In addition to field studies week, the theater arts department hosts an exciting showcase, in which B.F.A. acting and musical theater seniors perform in Los Angeles and New York before dozens of industry professionals. In years past, Ithaca students participating in the showcase have received offers of employment and representation from talent agencies. This rare opportunity for performers to display their talents is one of the great benefits of an Ithaca education, as the ever-swelling ranks of IC grads on Broadway and in Hollywood attest.
