Since 1999 the Fitness Center has been the premier spot on campus for getting, and staying, in shape. Available to the Ithaca College community free of charge (aside from a few select classes), the center is open seven days a week, with limited hours during breaks.
Lifting weights in the Fitness Center
The main exercise room features 40 cardio machines, including treadmills, bikes, and elliptical trainers. Two circuits of strength training machines, as well as a variety of free weights, allow you to shape your own fitness regimen. Between the floor-to-ceiling windows, the banks of televisions, and the rocking sound system, you'll find no shortage of distraction (or inspiration) to help you with your workout.
The Fitness Center also has an indoor climbing wall, specialized aerobics room, two gyms, and spacious locker rooms. Equipment check-out and towel service are both free as well.
ICircus, Ithaca's circus club, practices in the Fitness Center.
In addition, our students take the lead by instructing classes on yoga, step, funk dance, kickboxing, and a number of other activities. Many recreational and club sports groups practice here during the school year.
