Several HSHP departments make their home in Smiddy Hall. With four floors of modern teaching, computing, meeting, and office space, this facility provides a great working environment for our students and faculty. But that's just the beginning.
Upstairs you'll find the Sir Alexander Ewing-Ithaca College Speech and Hearing Clinic, where speech-pathology and audiology faculty and students serve clients from the College and surrounding community.
Also in Smiddy are the offices for the Departments of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Occupational Therapy, and Physical Therapy.
Speech-language pathology and audiology professor Kahlil Telage works with a graduate student on instructional design.
The Department of Writing and our writing center are housed here, as well. Peer tutors in the writing center help students of every major hone their writing skills, whether they're polishing a research paper or pages of their first novel.
Lastly, the professional staff and student assistants in the Office of Academic Support Services for Students with Disabilities help ensure that the needs of students with disabilities are met campus-wide.
