LeBron Rankins entered active duty at the age of 17, following completion of high school in Columbus, OH. He served his country as a Dental Specialist in the United States Army for eight years, and for two years in the United States Army Reserves. During his military service, LeBron rose to the rank of SGT(Promotable). Throughout his enlistment, LeBron held positions that included assisting and/or providing direct care to military personnel and their dependents, managing dental facilities, and training enlisted personnel.  LeBron’s military service included assignments in SC, MA, NY, LA, TX, the Federal Republic of Germany, and the Netherlands. He also served in the Sinai Peninsula as a member of the Multinational Peace Keeping and Observers Force. His military decorations include: the Army Service Ribbon, the Overseas Service Ribbon, two awards of the Army Achievement Medal, two awards of the Army Commendation Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Expert Badge with M16 Rifle Bar, the NCO Professional Development Ribbon and the Multinational Observer Campaign Ribbon.

LeBron left military service to pursue a career in psychology. He earned his undergraduate degree in Psychology from Central State University, in Ohio, and his Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from Kent State University. LeBron is a staff psychologist in the Center for Counseling and Psychological Services where he has provided clinical services to students and coordinated the Suicide Awareness and Prevention program on campus since 2003.
