Travel to New York City for Introduction to the Harlem Experience
Are you interested in theater, educational outreach to youth, the urban political scene, social issues affecting everyone from small children to the elderly? Are you looking for an experience that will encourage you to make a difference? Then consider enrolling in the Introduction to the Harlem Experience during the 2014 winter session.
This course is designed to introduce students to New York City’s Harlem community; this course will examine several of the educational, community and cultural organizations that serve the Harlem community. Through visits to cultural landmarks, opportunities to meet and learn about community outreach initiatives and hands-on volunteer work, students will gain a better understanding of what Harlem has to offer.

*The course fee covers lodging at The Newton Hotel (Monday-Thursday), metro card for the week, and 1 group meal. Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from New York City.
