What is the Web Profile Manager?

The Web Profile Manager (WPM) is a web-based content management system (CMS) custom-tailored to the needs of Ithaca College. Users can be granted access to specific websites or web content and use the WPM to manage that content from any web browser using simple tools similar to those in Microsoft Word.

The College's web development team is constantly improving the WPM to make accessible current web technologies such as dynamic news and blogs with RSS feeds, while maintaining ease of use. By removing the specialized languages, software, accounts, and protocols from web development, the WPM makes web content management much more accessible to the College community as a shared responsibility.

What is the purpose of this site?

This site brings together all help topics, news, and other information related to the Web Profile Manager in one place. We hope it will serve as a useful resource.

How do I use this site?

Once you select a profile to work on, you will see a menu on the left-hand side of the screen with the main options.  This menu will vary slightly, depending on what kind of profile you are working on (department, faculty, student ePortfolio, etc.)  For every option that is available, you will find a help topic on this site that will give you an overview of how to use the tool.  The help topics will give you a brief overview of the Web Profile Manager (WPM) and how it's organized, so that you may begin using it right away.

If you don't find what you're looking for within this site, or if you need more detailed support, there are other options for help.  See our Getting Help section to find out what we can do for you.

Important Note:

As of Fall 2013, no new student ePortfolios will be created in WPM because IC will be moving to Taskstream for online portfolios. Existing student ePortfolios will expire in August of 2014.  Students should take action to salvage their ePortfolio content by archiving data or moving to Taskstream before August 2014. See /its/traindoc or contact the ITS Helpdesk at (607) 274-1000 or helpdesk@ithaca.edu for more information.
