Clinical Education II
General Objectives:
The student is assigned specific clinical tasks under the supervision of the CI. The student is expected to function with up to a 50% caseload; develop patient-client management skills, professional behaviors and clinical decision making skills. Patients will be a mixture of simple and complex.
Prior to this clinical education placement, the students will have classroom and/or laboratory instruction in the following: anatomy, massage, mobility training, physiology, musculoskeletal assessment, biomechanics, pathology, modalities, research methods, implementation and development of exercise programs, soft tissue and peripheral joint exam, neuroanatomy, neurophysiology, fundamental management of health care systems, administration of health organization and agencies, normal motor development and spinal examination/rehabilitation.

NEUROANATOMY Comprehensive study of the structural features and connectivity of the human central and peripheral nervous systems.
NEUROPHYSIOLOGY Study of the concepts, terms, and methods of investigating the physiology of the human nervous system.
CLINICAL ADMINISTRATION I First of a two-part course series on effective and efficient administration of rehabilitation services. Emphasis is on department organization and planning, reimbursement, foundations of control, management information systems, fiscal planning, risk management, quality assurance, external regulatory mechanisms, marketing and public relations, and assessment of service outcomes.
SPINE EXAMINATION AND REHABILITATION Examination and interventions for patients with neuromusculoskeletal conditions affecting the spine. Students learn objective measurements of spinal posture, mobility, and function to differentiate among various spinal conditions.
NORMAL MOTOR DEVELPOMENT Focus on normal developmental process from embryo to old age. Emphasis on theories of motor control, motor learning and motor development.
