Termination of a Clinical Education Placement
Clinical Education faculty have the right to request that a student be removed from a clinical education placement. The College reserves the right to terminate the placement at any time. The termination of a student during a placement is NOT considered a cancellation. The student’s self assessment, the CI/CCCE discussion of student performance and written assessments from Clinical Instructors, the ADCE/DCE will determine the grade for the course at the time of removal.
When a student is terminated from a placement, remedial work will be required. Following successful remediation, the DCE/ADCE will assign the student to a clinical placement similar in type and diversity of patients to the site that the student had been removed from. Repeat clinical education placements will not necessarily follow the regular course schedule and sequence.
