Julio Lopez-Arias

Julio Lopez-Arias is an Associate Professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures. He specializes in Spanish language, literature culture and civilization. He has a PhD in Romance Languages and Literatures from the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor). He also has an M.A in Psychology from the Universidad Pontificia de Salamanca, Spain and a B.A in Pedagogy from the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Spain. He teaches Spanish language, literature, culture and civilization. He has taught at Eastern Michigan University and at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He has also been a visiting Associate Professor at Cornell University. He has authored and edited several books and articles in his field. He immigrated to the United States to pursue his career as a Hispanist (to teach and research the language, culture, and literature of the Spanish-speaking world).
