|WRITING AS A CRITIC|
This two-hour, one-time-only craft class is available to students who select the "craft" option for their afternoon track.
The purpose of this course is to learn the essentials of writing arts reviews and criticism for newspapers, magazines, and trade journals—both print and online. Subjects for review might include film, theatre, music, dance, literature, and television.
Barbara Adams holds degrees from University of Southern California and Yale and has worked as a feature writer and theatre critic for the Ithaca Journal and Ithaca Times for the past forty years. At Ithaca College, she teaches courses in the Feature Writing concentration, including Food Writing and Writing as a Critic. She also directs the internship program, coordinates the Careers for Writers series, and serves as Vice Chair of the Ithaca City of Asylum.
