A favorite past time of many young folks is shopping! Like many Italian cities, Torino is a focal point of high fashion for all income levels. Everything from Gucci to flea markets can be found in this city. Some of the highlights of the city's shopping are found here:

Via Roma

On trendy Via Roma, one can find a variety of stores ranging from expensive designers to trendy new designers at a more modest price.

Designer Stores: Emporio Armani, Hermes, Massanova.

Mid-range fashions can be found at: La Bottega di Fulgenzi, Ottre, Pincif, Promod, Ruffatti.

All of these shops are open from 3:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M. on Mondays and from 10:00 A.M. - 7:30 P.M. Tuesday - Sunday.

Leather Goods

Italy is also known for its classic leather goods. Purses, shoes and belts are a hot commodity. One of the more popular accessory stores that have this high standard of leather goods is the posh store, Furla. Furla's famous purses, belts, and shoes can be found at either Furla or at various locations in Torino.

For leather goods at a more reasonable price, visit the market in Via Marco Polo. But be ready to haggle for the lowest price.

Open Air Markets

Torino's open air markets are a haven for the bargain shopper. The Piazza Della Repubblica is home to Europe's largest open air market! Everything from food to CDs and other trinkets to sweaters can be found at this market. "Time Out Turin," a popular travel guide states that "it reflects the neighborhoods rich ethnic mix in a dazzling jumble of hues, smells and wares."

Olympic Gear

No Olympic experience would be complete without some official Olympics gear. The Roots is an official sponsor of the US Olympic team.
