The work of the Ithaca College Board of Trustees is enhanced by the presence of three chairs emeriti. The position of chair emeritus or emerita is a lifetime appointment, honoring those former board chairs who continue to demonstrate an extraordinary legacy of distinguished service to and support of the college.
On occasion, a trustee who has completed a regular term of membership may be designated as an honorary trustee by the board. Honorary trustees are actively engaged with the college at all levels and serve as ambassadors of the college. Although they do not have voting power, chairs emeriti and honorary trustees regularly attend meetings, serve on board committees, and provide indispensable guidance and insight to campus leadership.
