What does the Center for Faculty Excellence do?
Sponsors and organizers events such as the Provost's colloquia, faculty awards events, faculty of color receptions, guest speakers, and workshops.
Maintains resources for faculty such as the Faculty Hub website, the CFE lending library, the ICTeach Listserv.
Organizes programs such as the New Faculty Institute, Teaching Excellence Institute, Antiracism Institute, Summer Institute, First-Year Seminar Institute, Mutual Mentoring, Faculty of Color Writing Program, Inclusive Search Chair Training, Faculty-in-Residence, Dana Teaching Fellows, Senior Fellows, Tenure and Promotion workshops, Week of Classroom Visits, Chairs Academy, Canvas course visits and tours.
Administers and coordinates awards and grants including CFRD reassigned time, Faculty Excellence Awards, Instructional Development Fund, President Shirley M. Collado Award, Small Research Grants, Summer Grants and Faculty of Color Equity Fund.
Provides consultation and support in areas such as assessment, instructional design and technology, curriculum design, and pedagogy, and offers process facilitation, grant proposal review, and class observations.
We collaborate with our partners, including Learning & Innovative Technologies, Library, Student Accessibility Services, Center for Civic Engagement, Office of Extended Studies, and the Provost's Office.
