Peer Success Coaches (PSCs) are student leaders who guide students as they navigate life at Ithaca College. They are trained to coach their peers develop and enhance the necessary skills to become successful students. PSCs function as listeners and motivational partners and work one-on-one with students in the program. PSCs help their fellow IC students develop skills and habits such as:

  • Skills:
    • Communicating with professors
    • Connecting to campus resources
    • Self-advocacy
    • Study strategies
  • Habits:
    • Accountability
    • Getting involved on campus
    • Goal setting
    • Time management


  • Direct assigned students to campus resources that meet the student's specific needs
  • Build meaningful connections with assigned students
  • Meet with assigned students at least once a week
  • Assist fellow undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds in developing skills to help them be successful Ithaca College students
  • Work with each paired student to assist them in creating individualized academic, professional, or social goals
  • Maintain a professional relationship and confidentiality with assigned students


  • Pay is $11.80/hour
  • Must attend weekly staff meetings for one (1) hour per week
  • Required to attend a mandatory orientation (dates TBD)
  • Must be able to dedicate five (5) hours a week to being a PSC
