Approximately once a month, the Honors Program hosts a “coffee talk” on a Friday afternoon. Coffee and snacks are provided in the Honors Lounge during this time for socializing with other Honors students and faculty.
Ice Cream Socials
You can count on an ice cream social every semester as a time to indulge with other Honors students.
Each winter, the Honors Program hosts a holiday banquet for all honors students. The event includes free books, a gingerbread house competition, and a raffle.
The Round Food Tradition
The Ithaca College Honors Program has a rich tradition of offering valuable academic coursework and unique opportunities beyond the classroom. However, asked for an example of an honors program tradition, it is likely that an honors student will reply, "Round food!"
For years the honors program has had a tradition of serving round food at every kind of event: From the first-year seminar “fourth hour” and the honors advisory committee meeting, where pizza is served without fail, to the monthly coffee talks, where students and professors alike munch on HobNobs and round biscuits, to the annual welcome back honors dinner, where large cookies can be found on every plate, round food has become an integral part of the Ithaca College honors experience!
