As my final year as a Park Scholar, I will be participating in a group service called Megaphone and doing my own individual service with Mentoring Through Athletics (a non-profit in Bowie, Maryland). I’ve volunteered with Megaphone for several semesters and I’m excited to have developed enough skills in graphic design and video editing to help in other areas of the service project. I worked with Mentoring Through Athletics over the summer and enjoyed the relationships I developed in the community. I had to come back and work with them again, especially since my family lives in the DMV.
Outside of my service projects, as always, I will be working hard on the track. Last year I successfully made All-American and the team took home a fourth-place trophy. However since this is senior year, I will be working towards bringing home a first-place team trophy and breaking the collegiate record in the 400-meter dash!
