My name is Matilde Catarino Bechet. I'm a senior journalism major with a minor in legal studies at Ithaca College's Roy H. Park School of Communications.
Over the summer, I interned at Young Hollywood, an entertainment company, where I honed my social media skills by creating weekly content. My daily tasks included creating reels, stories, and thumbnail covers for Young Hollywood's Instagram and TikTok accounts. I collaborated closely with the show's host and producer to gain a better understanding of the fast-paced multimedia environment.
Additionally, I work at Ithaca College's television station (ICTV). I’ve been a reporter for ICTV's news show “Newswatch” since sophomore year. This position has given me the opportunity to shoot, write, and edit weekly broadcast news packages. This year, I will be working as a content producer for “Newswatch” and a correspondent for “ICTV Reports.”
Some interesting facts about myself: I was born and raised in Portugal before moving to the United States when I was 13 years old. I am also fluent in Spanish and French.
