This fall, my individual service will be with the Ithaca Youth Bureau as a volunteer coach. I am also waiting on the opportunity to work with the speech therapy program at Ithaca High School. My group service will once again be Art Club at Beverly J. Martin Elementary School. My love for service goes back to my experiences as a kid. I look back at all the students and young adults who volunteered at the clinics I attended and realize how much of an impact they had on me. I truly saw how important young mentors were to me when I was a kid, so I am striving to inspire youth in any way I can. This summer I was a broadcast intern in the Cape Cod Baseball League for the back-to-back champion Bourne Braves. Here at IC, I host The Gridiron Report on ICTV and broadcast the play-by-for Ithaca Bomber football and Ithaca athletics on WICB. I also call Cornell volleyball and field hockey games on ESPN+. I also play on the Club Baseball team. All of these opportunities have truly helped me grow as a broadcaster and a person. The people with whom I have worked have taught me about collaboration, teamwork, patience, and hard work. I truly cherish every moment, because it is a dream come true. I take pride in inspiring people with my personal story of being the kid in elementary school who had a stutter and was laughed at because I wanted to be a broadcaster from the time I was six years old. I hope my continued efforts will show people it is okay to take risks and trust yourself to live your dream.
