Growing up in northern New Jersey, as I watched my mom’s impact as a nurse touch so many, I always knew I wanted to find a career in the health professions. However, it took me a while to figure out exactly how I wanted to fulfill that dream. Coming to Ithaca College, as a transfer junior, was one of the most pivotal moments in my journey. Through my internship with Cayuga Center for Healthy Living, I was able to sample the different services offered through experience to help guide me into the career I wanted. It was there, working at Cardiac Rehab and shadowing physical therapists, that I fell in love with the rehabilitation process. It was through that experience that I decided to pursue physical therapy.

Ithaca College gave me the opportunity to be challenged in the classroom in ways I had not been before. It also granted me access to professors, teaching assistants, classmates, and technology that helped to further enhance my interest and knowledge. My favorite part of senior year was working with my research team examining visual search behaviors in female athletes on my women’s basketball team. I am forever grateful for all the people and opportunities that Ithaca College gifted me with. I know I will carry these skills with me going forward as I pursue my doctor of physical therapy degree from Rutgers University and beyond.
