Program Outcomes

Per CAATE Accreditation Standards, all accredited programs are bound to report official program outcomes pertaining to results on the national Board of Certification examinations for their graduates, annually. Below you will find our official BOC exam and placement program outcomes for the 2011 - 2019 academic years (Updated 09-13-19).

Over the last 9 years, 151 consecutive senior Athletic Training students at Ithaca College have passed their national BOC examination, allowing them to practice athletic training in the state of their choice on THE VERY FIRST ATTEMPT--that's 9 years running without a "failed" examination result showing up in the email inbox of any of our graduates!

CAATE Accreditation Standards also require all accredited AT programs to record and report retention rates, 4 year graduation rates and post graduation placement outcomes for the most recent 3 year period. The table below represents those data points for the last 3 graduating cohort, 2017 - 2019. Within 3 months, 93% of our 56 BS, in Athletic Training degree holders over the last 3 years have started professional work in athletic training (college/university, high school or clinic settings) or entered graduate/professional education programs (master's degrees in AT, physical therapy school, physician assistant school, etc.).
