Study the body's responses and long-term adaptations to exercise.

Curriculum Overview

Your classroom study will include:

  • muscle and heart function
  • exercise and performance testing
  • enhancement of peak performance and/or functional recovery
  • techniques in research

In addition, you will have access to our clinics and labs to gain practical, hands-on experiences.

Graduate Job Ready

This concentration prepares you for obtaining external certification by the American College of Sports Medicine. Examples of careers of recent graduates include:

  • Human performance research for the Army
  • Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation at a major Boston hospital
  • Cardiopulmonary research at a major Boston hospital
  • Human performance research at a major Eastern university
  • Collegiate athletic trainer (with NATA certification)
  • Athlete strength & conditioning specialist with a prominent athletic conditioning center
