I have a passion for people and always knew that I wanted to go into a field that engaged with people and provided a service. Healthcare was perfect as it combined my passion for lifelong learning, people, and service. While exploring a huge range of careers in the field I realized physical therapy was everything I had been looking for and even more that I hadn’t. The program at Ithaca College has a reputation for academic excellence as well as the diverse undergraduate offerings that I wanted. I studied abroad and was able to minor in art history while preparing myself to enter the professional phase of the curriculum.
Ithaca College has also been a place of tremendous growth and personal discovery. Involvement in areas relating to health sciences have grown as my time here goes on, but my extracurriculars have been varied. In October of 2019, I had the privilege to speak at a national summit on literacy for people who are incarcerated, a capstone to my time with student organizations, specifically IC Books Thru Bars. It is with great excitement that I look to the future to continue mentorship with undergraduates in the Leadership Scholar Program and Ithaca College Physical Therapy Student Association.
