PHIL-23000 Bioethics

This course gave me insight into arguments that I may encounter in my medical career. Also, this class gave me basic philosophy knowledge.

This course taught me how to understand why I believe in something and gives me an open mind towards others’ opinions.

I believe what I learned can be integrated into my profession through my interactions with clients. I will look at their views about their disabilities through more than one lens.

[I found] the method of looking at ethical arguments and constructing my own [to be most educationally valuable about this course.]

[I found] the ability to approach medical and biological circumstances with a philosophical outlook [to be most educationally valuable about this course.]

I found that learning how to make a valid counterargument can be useful in my future, especially if I will need to debate with another person.

[I found] (1) learning/practicing critical thinking on a variety of controversial issues and (2) debating and practicing how to analyze the logic and soundness of an argument and its premises [to be most educationally valuable about this course.]

I loved the reading material, especially The Case Against Reflection. Everything was thought-provoking and well-covered.

[I found] needing to think independently about the material and being able to create and argue my view on it [to be most educationally valuable about this course.]
