The Box Office Staff run and maintain the Department of Theatre Arts ticket center, located in Dillingham Center. 

Qualifications:

  • Preference will be given to students with Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing and to those who have box office and/or house management experience.
  • Must be available to work 5-10 hours per week between the hours of 10 a.m. and  8 p.m.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acquiring and demonstrating a thorough knowledge of:
    • Box Office and Theatre Department policies and procedures
    • Theatre seating maps
    • Selling tickets using the Tessitura ticketing system
    • Resolve patrons' ticket problems and issues
    • Resolve box office student staff problems and issues
    • Resolve problems with computer hardware and software
    • Reconcile cashier reports and troubleshoot discrepancies
    • Ticker Scanning for hard tickets, print-at-home tickets, and tickets e-mailed to digital devices
    • Details of productions (type, authors, relevant personnel, etc.)
    • Directions to the theatre
    • Parking solutions
    • Competing events on campus and in the city
    • Ithaca College Theatre MainStage website
    • Audience experience of sitting in theatre
    • Day/Night-of-show scenarios
    • Complete, distribute, and file forms correctly
    • Training other students in use of the ticketing system: Perform, teach and enforce policies and procedures; model appropriate professional behavior and attire; report problems with student staff to student box office managers and to Theatre Arts Management faculty and staff 
    • Stewarding the box office space: Limit access to box office space to appropriate box office staff; guard cash and safe; respect confidentiality.
    • Document problems with physical space (equipment, furniture, etc.) appropriately and complete service request as needed 
    • Maintain clean and tidy work-spaces: vacuum carpet; Windex sales windows; organize message boards and message log
    • Other duties as assigned

Hours: 5-10 per week during the semester
