COMP POLICY REVISION FOR FALL 2021

The department has had a long standing tradition of offering complimentary tickets to students, faculty and staff members of the Department of Theatre Arts (DTA). Given the current realities of our inventory alongside pedagogical needs of our students, we are needing to adjust these policies for Fall 2021 to meet the needs of our internal public (student, faculty and staff, and parents of DTA) and external public (Ithaca and Finger Lakes community, and beyond).

House of Desires:

Due to the limited inventory and short run of House of Desires, ONLY students, faculty, and staff involved in the production through the cast, crew, production and artistic teams will receive complimentary tickets, 2 tickets to one performance during the entire run.

If you are a DTA student (major or minor), faculty, and staff member of the department not involved in the production, you will be required to purchase a ticket to the production if you want a guaranteed seat. The limited inventory and short run effects the pedagogical goals and learning objectives of the Theatre Arts Management program. Their training involves being able to effectively promote each production at Ithaca College Theatre and sell a ticket using our ticketing system, Tessitura, that means we cannot ticket entire houses of complimentary tickets.

There will be a comp waitlist opportunity that is first-come, first-serve for Department of Theatre Arts students, faculty and staff. Waitlist starts when the Box Office opens on the day of a performance, one hour before curtain.

RENT:

Students, faculty and staff involved in the production through the cast, crew, production, and artistic teams will receive complimentary tickets, 2 tickets to one performance during the entire run. Unlike House of Desires, those involved in the production will only be able to use their complimentary tickets for the following performances:

  • Wednesday, November 10th at 8:00pm (Preview)
  • Friday, November 12th at 8:00pm (Opening Night)
  • Saturday, November 13th at 2:00pm
  • Tuesday, November 16th at 8:00pm
  • Wednesday, November 17th at 8:00pm

DTA Major and Minor students not involved in the production will be eligible to receive 1 complimentary ticket. DTA Faculty and Staff not involved in the production will be eligible to receive 2 complimentary tickets to the production. Here are the applicable performances that complimentary tickets can be used for:

  1. Wednesday, November 10th at 8:00pm (Preview)
  2. Saturday, November 13th at 2:00pm
  3. Tuesday, November 16th at 8:00pm
  4. Wednesday, November 17th at 8:00pm

The Other Shore:

Due to the limited inventory and performance schedule of The Other Shore, ONLY students, faculty, and staff involved in the production through the cast, crew, production and artistic teams will receive complimentary tickets, 2 tickets to one performance during the entire run.

If you are a DTA student (major or minor), faculty, and staff member of the department not involved in the production, you will be required to purchase a ticket to the production to guarantee a seat. The limited inventory and short run effects the pedagogical goals and learning objectives of the Theatre Arts Management program. Their training involves being able to effectively promote each production at Ithaca College Theatre and sell a ticket using our ticketing system, Tessitura, that means we cannot ticket entire houses of complimentary tickets

There will be a comp waitlist opportunity that is first-come, first-serve for Department of Theatre Arts students, faculty and staff. Waitlist starts when the remote Box Office (located on ground floor of Dillingham) opens one hour before curtain.
