The Center for Music educates prospective teachers in a program designed to develop persons of professional competence in the following degree areas. 

Graduate Program Quick Facts

  • The Center for Music offers a summer program that leads to either an MM Music Education or MS Music Education
  • Programs require 30 credits of graduate study. For the MM, all credits will be in music. For the MS, 6 credits must be from graduate-level study in another field. Students generally transfer these credits into our program from previous graduate-level studies.
  • A minimum of three summers of study in residence is required to complete the MM or MS in Music Education. The summers need not be consecutive, but the program must be completed in 6 years.
