Community Engagement
We believe opportunities outside of the college classroom will enhance the educational experience of our students.

The Ithaca College School of Music, Theatre, and Dance values community engagement. We believe opportunities outside of the college classroom will provide hands-on learning experiences that not only benefit our community, but enhance the educational experience of our students. Many service-learning courses are offered in the School of Music, Theatre, and Dance, and every year ensembles partner with schools and community organizations for concerts.

Through the MusIC in the Community program, we are committed to connecting students and faculty with the community by creating performance and teaching opportunities in the greater Ithaca area. Community members can request IC musicians to play at their non-profit organization or private party at any time during the current school year. It is a great, quick and easy way for community members to enhance their event with music, while helping students gain performance experience as they begin their professional music career.

To request an IC student musician or ensemble to perform at your next event, please visit the Request an IC Musician page.

Students can choose to perform at a variety of unique venues, including museums, retirement facilities, and concerts halls. To book a performance, please register your ensemble.

We invite you to view each section of our Community Engagement page to discover opportunities for students and see how faculty members are engaging in the greater Ithaca community.
