Americans with Disabilities Act

The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is a law enacted in 1990 by the U.S. Congress. The ADA is a wide-ranging civil rights law that prohibits, under certain circumstances, discrimination based on disability. It prohibits discrimination against people with disabilities in employment, transportation, public accommodation, communications, and governmental activities. The ADA also establishes telecommunications and relay services requirements.
