What are the requirements for studying a foreign language at Ithaca?


Anyone can study a foreign language at Ithaca, from beginning level through a minor or major. A major in most of our languages requires 36 credits at the intermediate level and above.

Ithaca College doesn't have a college-wide foreign language graduation requirement, but a number of majors – such as art history, culture and communication, English, business administration—international business concentration, journalism, politics, teacher education – require the demonstration of foreign language proficiency as part of their degree requirements.
