Resources for LGBT students at Ithaca

Ithaca College is one of the country’s 100 friendliest campuses for LGBT students. Says who? Says the “Advocate College Guide for LGBT Students.”

The Ithaca College Center for LGBT Education, Outreach, and Services was specifically cited by the "Advocate College Guide for LGBT Students" for the depth and breadth of services and events it offers to the campus community. Both an academic center and a social center, it provides a variety of services that include

  • a welcoming and supportive office staffed by a professional coordinator
  • a resource room filled with books, videos, periodicals, and computer stations and staffed by trained student volunteers
  • four LGBT themed student organizations (Created Equal, prism, Spectrum, and The Association of Gay and Straight Student Athletes)
  • educational presentations and training workshops on a large variety of LGBT issues
  • referrals, resources, and information on LGBT issues and concerns
  • campus-wide LGBT education programs and social events including speakers, a film series, and Gaypril, LGBT awareness month events
  • brochures and pamphlets that address issues and concerns of LGBT people, their families, and allies
  • information for incoming students and their families
